Danhostel Vordingborg
DANHOSTEL Vordingborg is situated on a peaceful 36,000 m2 site with paths, lakes and pétanque courts on the outskirts of Vordingborg (approx. 20,500 inhabitants). Vordingborg is beautifully situated in southern Zealand, surrounded by water and forests. The marina is close to the centre of town. This is also the site of the ruins of one of Denmark’s oldest and most important castles with the preserved Gåsetårnet [the Goose Tower], which forms part of the Southern Zealand Museum.Vordingborg is the home of local theatre company Cantabile 2 and the county’s rhythmic music venue STARS. The town is often called the county’s cultural capital due to the many cultural activities held there.Festival weeks and festivals:The Vordingborg festival week is held in week 28 in July every year with free entry to see some of Denmark’s best live bands. Cantabile 2 holds every second year the international theatre festival, Waves. In mid-August.DANHOSTEL Vordingborg is part of the Svend Heinild Center. A number of theatrical and musical performances and lectures are also held at the centre. The café has room for approx. 200 guests and the conference hall can hold up to 400 people for concerts, theatre and conferences.DANHOSTEL Vordingborg is centrally located approx. 90 km south of Copenhagen.The youth hostel has TV lounges and well-equipped guests kitchens with pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, coffee machines and fridges and freezers for guests.
